I've been working with children and families for 30 years and working with pets for 15 years. I know that, even though it's a lot of work, having children or pets can add a lot of joy to a family. When you decide to have both children and pets, it's twice as much fun, but can also be quite challenging. You love your kids and pets and want to do all you can to keep them safe, healthy and happy. Sometimes that can be difficult, and occassionally things can get dangerous. Children most commonly get bit by dogs in their own homes or the homes of a friend. When this happens, it may be decided that the dog can no longer live with the family. Some of these dogs end up in shelters, or they might even be euthanized. These situations are tragic for the children and the dogs, and are often preventable. With a little education, coaching and commitment, families can learn to manage both kids and pets together in a way that is safe and joyful for everyone. I'd like to help you do that.
Pitter Patter Parenting will help families become aware of ways to prevent problems from happening and help them deal with problems that may have already begun. Pitter Patter Parenting will also work to educate and support children and adults in the community through workshops on pet care and dog bite prevention, and pet loss counseling and support groups. I work to honor the special relationship people have with their pets, helping to keep all family members healthy, happy and safe.
All services are delivered in your home and in the community.
