Announcing Dine Out in West Lakeview Plan
Developed in response to COVID-19, Dine Out will reclaim side streets and private spaces in West Lakeview to create outdoor dining rooms that will be shared by multiple restaurants, similar to a food hall. The program will allow diners to enjoy food and alcoholic beverages from local restaurants in open air settings, while providing restaurants with much-needed space to expand their outdoor capacity according to the latest public health guidance. The seating areas will accommodate approximately 30 tables per location. Diners will be able to purchase meals from individual restaurants for carryout and take them to a nearby Dine Out location, where they can enjoy al fresco dining complete with charming décor and occasional entertainment. The start date of this program will be announced soon, pending approval of the necessary permits with the City of Chicago.
Proposed Locations
Dine Out spaces are expected to be open to the public Friday evenings for dinner and all day Saturdays and Sundays for breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Spaces under consideration for the Dine Out program include:
- W. Grace St., West of Southport Ave. to the alley
- W. Cornelia Ave., East of Southport Ave. to the alley
- W. Henderson St., West of Southport Ave. to the alley
- W. Wellington Ave., West of Lincoln Ave. to the alley
- N. Paulina St., South of Roscoe St. to the alley
