While there is significant demand to live and do business near transit, Lakeview has not provided more housing options near the train. In fact, the number of housing units within a half mile of the Southport CTA station actually declined 2% since the year 2000. The Lakeview Chamber believes that diverse and abundant housing are essential to our neighborhood's future success, and TOD presents an opportunity to reverse the loss of housing units.
