    Tuesday, March 28, 6-8 p.m.
Lincoln Belmont Library, 1659 W. Melrose St.

The Lakeview Chamber of Commerce and Special Service Area (SSA) 27 invite community members to participate in a discussion about the future of the Low-Line, a one-of-a-kind project that would connect Southport Ave. and Paulina St. with a continuous, half-mile long walkway and garden beneath the CTA ‘L’ tracks. SSA 27 has partnered with PORT, a leading-edge design consultancy, to identify potential uses for new Low-Line spaces at Ashland and Paulina. The project team will present on existing site conditions and share precedent images from other cities to gather community input before developing their designs.

The Low-Line project was first introduced in the 2011 Lakeview Area Master Plan as a means of connecting the neighborhood’s unique sub-districts and beautifying our neighborhood. New amenities situated along the Low-Line will create a more positive experience for residents and visitors alike. Future Low-Line improvements will be funded by SSA 27, with additional support from local contributions made to Friends of Lakeview, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The community meeting is open to all members of the public. Please RSVP here so we know how many participants will be attending.
