Name: Community Meeting: Low-Line Plazas Design Presentation
    Date: September 19, 2017
    Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT
    Event Description:
The Lakeview Chamber of Commerce and Special Service Area (SSA) 27 invite community members to review design concepts for new public plazas beneath the CTA Brown Line ‘L’ tracks at Ashland and Paulina, part of the Low-Line project. SSA 27 has partnered with PORT, a leading-edge design consultancy, to envision the future of the Low-Line at critical intersections within the neighborhood’s commercial corridors. The project team will unveil draft designs, which incorporate community input and ideas, and gather additional feedback from those in attendance at the meeting.

The Low-Line project envisions a one-of-a-kind landmark destination that would connect Southport Ave. and Paulina St. with a continuous, half-mile long walkway and garden beneath the CTA ‘L’ tracks. The project was first introduced in the 2011 Lakeview Area Master Plan as a means of connecting the neighborhood’s unique sub-districts and beautifying our neighborhood. New amenities situated along the Low-Line will create a more positive experience for residents and visitors alike. Low-Line plazas at Southport, Ashland and Paulina will be funded by SSA 27, with Friends of Lakeview, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, raising funds to create pathways that will connect the plazas and complete the continuous walkway and gardens.

The community meeting is open to all members of the public. Please RSVP here so we know how many participants will be attending.
